Main Tasks of The Job
To be an integral part of the care team during any shift, ensuring that a safe, effective, and efficient care service is provided. This role involves meeting the needs of supported individuals and delivering exemplary care in accordance with their assessed requirements, adhering to industry-leading standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Contribute to ensuring the service meets and exceeds the Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards and the contract specifications for supported individuals.
 - Collaborate with senior care workers, team leaders, and managers to take ownership of all aspects of service delivery, ensuring the safety and well-being of supported individuals.
 - Safeguard supported individuals in our care.
 - Assist supported individuals with dressing, bathing, toileting, and other aspects of personal care as needed.
 - Support individuals with mobility challenges and physical disabilities, including the use and care of personal equipment.
 - Accurately administer medication and maintain relevant records.
 - Promote the mental and physical activity of supported individuals through conversation, outings, and participation in activities such as reading, writing, and hobbies.
 - Maintain cleanliness by making and changing beds, tidying rooms, cleaning, and hoovering.
 - Prepare and serve meals, assist supported individuals during mealtimes, and wash utensils afterwards.
 - Document daily notes, incident reports, and any other relevant information.
 - Assist in the formulation of care plans tailored to the individual needs of supported individuals.
 - Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by managers and team leaders.
 - Liaise with healthcare professionals and multi-disciplinary teams as necessary, with guidance from management.
 - Participate in staff meetings and training activities as required.
 - Take responsibility for personal professional development by completing ongoing mandatory training and e-learning courses.
 - Abide by the Code of Conduct for Social Care Workers and the staff handbook, adhering to company policies.
 - Uphold the rights, choices, dignity, equality, and diversity of each supported individual, maintaining a person-centred approach.
 - Due to the nature of this role, candidates will need to hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle that can be used for work-related travel and commuting.
