At Knightingles Healthcare, we proudly serve as the lead provider for children’s services in Hertfordshire. Our mission is to offer compassionate, person-centred care tailored to meet the unique needs of each child and their family.
We understand the challenges that families face, particularly those with children requiring additional care. Our support packages include:
Assisting children with getting ready for school and settling down for bed, giving more time to parents managing multiple responsibilities.
Providing flexible care during weekends, after school, and school holidays, allowing parents the time and freedom to manage errands or enjoy personal time.
At Knightingles, every care plan is carefully designed to align with the Six Hertfordshire Outcome Bees – a framework focused on positive outcomes for children, young people, and their families. These guiding principles ensure that our care supports holistic growth and development.
We work with families to tailor care plans that help each child:
Fostering emotional well-being by encouraging enjoyable activities, building strong relationships, and nurturing a positive mindset.
Developing life skills that empower children to take ownership of their daily routines and decisions as they grow.
Building coping strategies and confidence to handle challenges and adapt to changes with strength and optimism.
Encouraging children to explore their interests, set personal goals, and achieve their full potential.
Supporting physical and mental health through active lifestyles, balanced routines, and access to healthcare when needed.
Ensuring a secure and nurturing environment where children feel protected and cared for at all times.
This approach ensures every child receives the care and encouragement they need to thrive, both now and in the future.
Our dedicated carers provide opportunities for children to explore and engage in activities they love, such as:
By focusing on each child’s preferences, we ensure that activities are not only enjoyable but also foster personal growth and confidence.
At Knightingles Healthcare, every care plan is tailored to the child’s unique needs and interests. For example, we pair children with carers who share their hobbies or can meet specific requirements, such as carers who can communicate in sign language or support non-English-speaking families. Our goal is to build strong, lasting relationships that make a tangible difference in children’s lives.
Our commitment doesn’t end in childhood. Many of the children we support transition into adulthood with us, allowing continuity of care that helps them achieve independence and thrive as adults. By focusing on long-term outcomes, we ensure that the skills and confidence developed in childhood carry forward into their future.

I must thank you for your response in our hour of need. In a crisis one needs rapid and positive help, and that is what you supplied. Yesterday [carer’s name supplied] did very well in entering a new house at a time of crisis and looking after [supported person name supplied] for the day, picking up jobs and keeping the house in order.
I generally get to see the same people, which is beneficial because it allows me to build strong relationships and understand their needs better. Consistency is important in care, and seeing the same individuals regularly helps them feel more comfortable and secure, and it allows me to provide more personalised care.
Family member is very safe with the carers, they are all well trained and very pleasant. They always use their Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and are very careful.
I have supported Knightingles Healthcare in the past with writing and reviewing PRN protocols for their service users. I was impressed at the way staff at Knightingles Healthcare asked for support when it was required, rather than trying to muddle their way through. I met with a staff member from Knightingles Healthcare on Teams and we wrote the PRN protocols together. The staff member had good knowledge of the service user and their preferences. I provided the clinical oversight. More recently, they have contacted me again to review the protocols, which I will be doing with staff in due course.
Staffing levels are regularly reviewed to ensure they are adequate to meet the needs of the individuals we support. I have a manageable workload, which allows me time off to spend with my family.
I have 4 visits a day, always 2 staff and I know them well. They are trained, they know what to do and I am very safe with them.
I recently completed my Safeguarding refresher course, which I do on a yearly basis. Moreover, I attended a Safeguarding and Capacity training event in May 2024. I am working towards being the safeguarding champion.
They always go that little bit extra and help me with things they don’t really need to as it’s not really part of their job. It’s like having family around.
